PURPOSE:To stabilize a processing solution without impairing stability of an image when an amt. of water in a rinse or stabilizing step is greatly cut off, by incorporating a specified compd. in the rinse water or stabilizing soln. to be used for a step following a fixing or bleach-fixing step. CONSTITUTION:An imagewise exposed silver halide color photographic sensitive material is developed in a continuous process, and at least one of the compds. represented by the formula shown on the right, (R1-R5 being H, halogen, alkyl, hydroxy, amino, nitro, carboxy, or sulfo) is incorporated in the rinse water or the stabilizing soln. to be used for the step following the fixing or bleach- fixing step, and the use of this compd. permits the stability of the rinse water or the stabilizing soln. to be especially enhanced, and image stability not to be impaired by cutting off the amt. of said water or soln. to be used, fading of dyes and increase of stains to be suppressed, and the stability of the processing solution to be enhanced without impairing the storage stability of an image even when it is used for the final bath.
