PURPOSE:To allow the discharge of an original to be accurately detected by configurating a device in such a way that the discharge of the original is detected only at positions near both the front and rear ends of original based on signals from an original size detecting means by a discharge detecting sensor of an automatic original feeding device. CONSTITUTION:In this original feeding device, both a feeding roller 7 and a conveyor belt 13 which is winded on both rollers 11 and 12, are driven by an original feeding motor 14 allowing the original 6 placed on a paper feeding table 5 to be forwarded one by one to the direction as shown by an arrow head. Besides, the rear end of the original 17 is designed to be positioned at the position of a stopper S, and is also designed to be detected by both an original detecting means 20 and the clock pulse of an encoder 15 connected to an ADF motor. The original on the original table 8 is transferred by the conveyor belt 13 to the direction as shown by an arrow head after it has been reproduced on detail paper fed by paper feeding cassettes 2 and 3, and the original is collected into a discharge tray 18 at a place above the roller 12. A discharge detecting sensor 22 is provided near the roller 12. Besides a drive control mechanism 16 for the ADF motor is also provided.
