The clockwork has a movement, a strike movement and chain-drive sprocket wheels in a clock plate which is built into a housing of a cuckoo clock. Provided in addition are a music movement and a roundelay movement with figures. The music movement and the roundelay movement are driven in common via one of the sprocket wheels. This sprocket wheel and the roundelay movement driven thereby are mounted on a separately produced auxiliary carrier and designed as a compact add-on unit therewith. This add-on unit is fixed to the clockwork plate before mounting in the housing of the cuckoo clock.
