An actuating device for muscial instruments or the like is proposed by the invention, in which to extend control of effects, or the replacement of normal percussion instruments or additional accompaniment by a piano, keyboard etc., fingers or a glove drawn over them are provided with contact pieces which interact with matching contact elements, e.g. metal plates or metallised keys of a piano, keyboard or the like. In this manner, the playing capability of instruments can be considerably increased, e.g. chords, special effects, sounds, applause etc. can be switched on, the sounds, applause etc. being stored in microprocessors, on floppy disks etc.
