Novel vinblastine-type alkaloids

Indole-dihydroindole compounds of the formula I <IMAGE> in which the groups X denotes methylene or dimethylene and Y and Z denote a (CR<1>R<2>)n group in which n denotes integers from 0 to 2, and the substituents R<1>, R<2>, R<3>, R<11>, R<12>, R<21> and R<22> denote hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkyloxy, acyloxy and hydroxyl, R<4> denotes alkoxycarbonyl, carboxyl, aminocarbonyl, alkylaminocarbonyl, dialkylaminocarbonyl or hydrazinocarbonyl R<5> denotes acyl, aminoacetyl or hydrogen, are obtained by reacting chloroindolenines of the formula III <IMAGE> in which the groups X denotes methylene or dimethylene, V denotes a (CR<1>R<2>)n group in which n can be the integers 0 to 4, W denotes a (CR<1>R<2>)m group in which m can be the integers 0 to 4, and the substituents R<1> and R<2> denote hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, acyloxy or hydroxyl, R<3> denotes hydrogen, alkyl, substituted alkyl, alkyloxy, acyloxy or hydroxyl, R<6> denotes benzyloxycarbonyl, 2,2,2-trichloroethoxycarbonyl, isopropyloxycarbonyl, phenyloxycarbonyl or alkyloxycarbonyl R<7> denotes halogen, methanesulphonyloxy or p-toluenesulphonyloxy, with vindoline or vindoline derivatives, eliminating the R<6> group and cyclising the product. The claimed compounds of the formula I are novel. This part is also a subject of the invention.
