发明名称 LIQUID CRYSTAL ELECTROOPTIC DEVICE
摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To make possible the expression of high information quantity by having an active matrix disposed with switching elements as driving means for a liquid crystal panel using an FLS effect to respective display picture elements. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal electrooptic device is constituted by installing picture element electrodes 1 and TFT2 to respective picture elements and placing a ferroelectric liquid crystal compsn. 5 between said electrodes and a common electrode 4 on a counter substrate 3. The potentials of the polarities inverted for each of the fields are written to the picture elements corresponding to the scattered state and the inverted voltage inducing the scattering is applied eventually to the ferroelectric liquid crystal. The impression of a DC voltage can be executed simply by inverting the video signal at every field. The FLS effect which can be operated only in the single cell is driven by the active matrix and the active matrix has the switching element for each picture element. The driving at the duty ratio approximate to 100% is made possible by the switching elements disposed to the respective picture elements.</p>
