PURPOSE:To easily correct a data recorded disk by executing a copying job only when the desired conditions are satisfied. CONSTITUTION:When a recorded disk is corrected, the system discriminating code between a source disk and a destination disk is checked first. Then the version numbers, the package discriminating codes and the release numbers between both disks are checked successively. It is decided that the prescribed conditions are satisfied only when the coincidence is secured between said numbers and codes respectively and the release number of the source disk is larger than that of the destination disk. If just one of these conditions is not satisfied, this fact is displayed. Thus an old disk to be copied is copied only when these prescribe conditions are satisfied. This prevents the production of foul copies, etc.
