PURPOSE:To prevent the spilling from a developer from both ends of a developer carrying body for an electrostatic latent image and to prevent the contamination of a developing device and image by bringing members having a low coefft. of friction along the sliding part of the carrying body into contact under pressure with both ends of the carrying body (developing roll) in the longitudinal direction thereof. CONSTITUTION:The members 8 consisting of a 'Teflon(R)', etc. and having the low coefft. of friction are joined to the hollowed parts of a frame 7 at both ends of the developer (toner) 1 carrying body 4 for the electrostatic latent image, a conveying roll 3, etc. along the sliding part of the body 4 at both ends of the body 4 in the longitudinal direction. The members 8 are brought into press contact with the body 4 and the spilling of the developer from the spacing between the members and the body 4 sliding therewith is prevented. The staining of the developing device and copied image is thus prevented and the uniform development is made possible.
