The invention relates to a wheel drive for motor vehicles with a drive shaft which is connected at one end by way of a homokinetic fixed joint to the wheel hub of the driven wheel and at the other end by way of a homokinetic telescopic joint to the output shaft of a differential. In order to reduce the number of components needed and to create a light, easily assembled wheel drive, the drive shaft is made from a long-fibre reinforced plastic, its one end being formed into a bell-shaped, outer joint part of the fixed joint, integral with the drive shaft, and its other end into a bell-shaped, outer joint part of the telescopic joint, integral with the drive shaft. The associated - metal - internal joint parts of both the fixed and the telescopic joint are at the same time each connected to the assigned wheel hub or the differential output shaft respectively, preferably by way of a spline system. <IMAGE>
