In the utilisation of possible drain accumulation-space reserves, the danger exists that long dwell times of the waste water in the drain system lead to rotting and associated hydrogen sulphide corrosion occurring, in particular on concrete and other special constructions. In order to reduce the resulting disadvantages of accumulation-space management, the present invention uses the possibilities of the controllable weir according to Patent 2552516 in order to achieve, by means of an additional weir edge which can be aerated automatically, an improved oxygen introduction in the course of the necessary controls. The advantage of the possible automatic aeration of weirs additionally has the secondary effect that the vibrations arising during water overflow are eliminated inside the weir plate and moreover the overflow capacities are considerably improved. <IMAGE>
