The invention relates to a circuit arrangement having one or more fluorescent lamp installations, which are designed for the mains voltage, with the interposition of autotransformers (economy transformers), having a constant transformation ratio, between a power supply on the mains side and the fluorescent lamp installation, for supplying at a relatively low voltage, in order thus to achieve energy saving effects with a reduction in the electricity consumption and an increase in the light yield.
