The invention describes a shopping trolley (1) which has a movable rack (10), in particular for crates of bottles, at its end associated with the handle region (7). If it is desired to convey a shopping trolley (1) of this type on a sloping travellator without it tilting backwards, certain geometrical conditions must be observed. These conditions consist in that in the horizontal position of the shopping trolley (1) the distance A between the perpendicular projection of the inner edge (12) of the rear, transversely running boundary (11) of the rack (10) and the perpendicular projection of the joint wheel axle (5) of the rear wheels (4) swivelled to the rear corresponds at most to the product of 0.28 times the dimension B which results from the distance of the perpendicular projection of the inner edge (12) of the boundary (11) and the perpendicular projection of the rearmost, lower basket boundary (9). <IMAGE>
