The invention relates to a connecting system which consists of two multiple couplings (I, II) which are connected to one another by the medium and are equipped with coupling halves (7, 8 and 9, 10 respectively) which are in the form of plates, support medium-carrying plug and collar parts of the individual couplings and are held detachably with respect to one another in the coupling position by means of blocking-sphere locking, the two detachable coupling halves (8, 10) being arranged aligned at 90 DEG with respect to one another on a common support (T), at least during the coupling process, and one coupling half (8) being movable relative to the support in the direction at 90 DEG to the extent of the individual couplings (24) of the other coupling half (7), and it being possible to attach the one movable coupling half (8) into hooks (13) at the ends of the support (T), and having a piston/cylinder unit (19) for completing the coupling and uncoupling process, and in order to optimise the alignment required for coupling proposes that the pickup (12) of the support (T) be formed by rails (46) which intrinsically extend in the direction of the hooks (13) and on which a carriage (W1), which is used as a suspension device, is movable as a function of the different position of the centre of gravity when the coupling half (8) is suspended on the hooks or is removed from the hooks. <IMAGE>
