PURPOSE:To allow a feeding and discharging mechanism to be simplified by configurating a device in such a way that detail paper is fed and discharged by a circulation driving force of a flat belt accompanied with the function of both a separating roller and a leaf spring which are pressed against the flat belt in a hard copy device using the specified length of detail paper. CONSTITUTION:A hard copy device includes a platen drum 1, a printing section comprising a thermal head 18, a conveying means which feeds detail paper 60 from a feeding and discharging opening 62 to the printing section, and another conveying means which discharges detail paper 60 that has been printed, to the feeding and discharging opening 62. A flat belt 37 which is circulated to the one-way direction, is provided between the feeding and discharging opening 62 and the printing section, and both a separating roller 39 and a leaf spring 38 are also provided near the flat belt 37. Detail paper 60 is designed to be fed to the printing section by the separating roller in cooperation with the flat belt 37. Furthermore, detail paper 60 is designed to be discharged from the feeding and discharging opening by the leaf spring 38 in cooperation with the flat belt 37.
