PURPOSE:To reduce overhead due to the data transfer of the CPU of the main body of a processing device by transferring data to the body of the processing device only when the CPU of a data inputting device judges that effective data are inputted. CONSTITUTION:A data inputting device 1 is provided with a key matrix 3, a counter 4 that counts the direction of shifting (d) and amount of shifting (e) inputted from a simple coordinate inputting device 5 and a CPU 2. Firstly the CPU 2 checks a key matrix 3, and when detecting key switch ON, transmits the obtained key data to the main body 6 of a processing device through a multi-way signal line (f). Then, the CPU reads the counter 4, and transfers new coordinate value to the body 6 only when the new coordinate value differs from former coordinate value.
