WATER PRESSURE TESTING METHOD FOR A WATER PIPE

A hydraulic pressure test on a pipe is carried out by moving a test pipe through a number of positions whilst the pipe ends are sealed under the water, raising the water pressure inside the pipe, and raising the pipe above the water level. The efficiency of testing is raised considerably by reducing the time required. The test pipe is immersed in a water tank(1). The ends of the pipe are sealed by inserting sealing caps(15) at opposite ends of the pipe. The pipe is raised to the test position above the water and water is then injected under high pressure in valves in the pipe and sealing caps. The valves maintain the high pressure within the pipe.
