PURPOSE:To perform a fast copying operation at low cost by providing a light source part with a filament incandescent lamp which is long in a rod shape, a transparent round rod glass body which is arranged having its axis in parallel to the incandescent lamp, and a mirror which is positioned behind the incandescent lamp. CONSTITUTION:A photosensitive drum 11 whose surface is coated with an organic photosensitive material is installed rotatably and a liquid crystal head 10 is arranged at its peak. The liquid crystal head 10 incorporates a liquid crystal panel, a light source part, and a SELFOC lens, and the image of the liquid crystal panel is projected on the photosensitive drum 11. Copying paper 13, on the other hand, is conveyed to the lower end of the photosensitive drum 11 and the image is transferred by a corona converter 14 to transfer paper 13, which is discharged. The liquid crystal panel 1 is arranged in the liquid crystal head 10, and this panel has the high density of 10 dots/mm and is driven by a driving device 2 on the basis of an external signal to form an image. The light source part 3 is arranged behind the liquid crystal panel 1 and a lamp 4 uses a halogen incandescent lamp which is long in a rod shape.
