METHOD FOR RECOVERING EFFECTIVELY CRUDE PIG IRON BY INTRODUCTION INTO TORPEDO LADLE CAR

PURPOSE:To expand the extremely limited use range of crude pig iron and to prevent the heat radiation while a torpedo ladle car is empty by the crude pig iron by introducing the crude pig iron into the empty torpedo ladle car after delivery of the crude pig iron therefrom in the earlist possible period after the delivery then receiving the pig iron into the torpedo ladle car. CONSTITUTION:The crude pig iron is introduced into the torpedo ladle car in the empty state after the delivery of the molten pig iron from the ladle car in the period up to the first 30% of the empty period from right after the completion of the delivery of the pig iron until the next receiving of the molten pig iron. The torpedo ladle car introduced therein with the crude pig iron is thereafter subjected to the next reception of the pig iron to melt the crude pig iron introduced therein. The heat radiation from the refractory wall surfaces of the ladle car is suppressed by the crude pig iron introduced therein by which the effect of heat insulation is obtd. and this method is effective in terms of thermal economy. The crude pig iron introduced into the ladle car is melted to molten pig iron when the ladle car next receives molten pig iron and is thereby recovered. The effect thereof is thus enhanced.
