PURPOSE:To simplify the structure by positioning lug parts for select engagement of shift fork at a prescribed spacing on the moving locus of a select lever which performs a select movement by a select actuator. CONSTITUTION:The select operation mechanism has an actuator shaft 2 which takes three shift positions by a shift actuator, a select lever 4 and shift forks 9 through 11. When a piston 6 moves, the select lever 4 performs a circular motion via a select gear 7 to carry out a select operation in which the select lever 4 selects any one of respective lug parts 9a through 11a of respective shift forks 9 through 11 and a reverse lug part 13a. Thus, a required shift fork can be selected from plural number of shift forks by a single select actuator.
