PURPOSE:To decrease processes of charge amount measurement and to perform precise measuring operation by connecting a toner charge amount measurement system to a developer holding roller. CONSTITUTION:A switch 6b is closed to stick a constant amount of a developer 3 on a developer holding roller 4 and a switch 7c is closed to measure the amount Qb=CVb of charge accumulated in a capacitor 7a. Then, the switches 7c and 6b are opened, the toner holding roller 8 is set opposite a developer holding roller 4, and both rollers are rotated. Consequently, the toner 1 is separated form the developer 3 and sticks on the toner holding roller 8. At this time, the amount Qt of toner charge which is different in polarity from and equal to the amount of charge that the separated toner 1 has is led to a capacitor 7a. Therefore, the switch 7c is closed after the toner is separated and the potential V of the capacitor 7 is measured, thereby calculating the amount Qt of toner charge from Qt=C(Vb-V). |
