The appts. is mounted upon a frame which rotates with the needle cylinder and is driven by a power transmission which is actuated by rotation of the cylinder and which includes a drive mechanism for rotating fabric delivery rolls and a windup roll in synchronism with fabric prodn. So that fabric tension is kept uniform. The drive mechanism comprises a belt connecting two spaced pulleys at least one of which is adjustable w.r.t. its dia. for varying the speed of the rolls. Pref. both pulleys are of adjustable dia.
