An assembly of a leaf spring (10) of composite material, a component (11) held to the spring by clamping means (14, 15), a sheet of resilient material (16) between the component and spring, and held to the spring by an adhesive, and a locating element with a head portion (19) lying against the surface of the spring and occupying a recess in the element (16), and a body portion (20) extending through the element (16) and engaging the component (11) to determine the position of the component relative to the spring during assembly. The invention eliminates the need to provide a recess or the like in the spring surface for locating during assembly. |
