A PNEUMATIC TIRE

A pneumatic tyre having at least two circumferentially extending continuous wide grooves (4) which subdivide the tread (3) into three or more circumferentially extending ribs or rows of blocks and a plurality of narrow cuts (9) of substantially no width which cross completely each rib or block at an acute angle to the centreline (C) of the tread (3). The narrow grooves (9) are less than 3 mm wide but probably much less and are cut in the tyre after vulcanisation so that they may be very narrow.
