PURPOSE:To prevent the subsidence of the ground by secondary consolidation by a method in which load banking is constructed on soft ground, and a liquid is charged into an elastic cylinder vertically set in the soft ground. CONSTITUTION:A perforated drain pipe 4 is set in a sand mat 3 laid on soft ground 2, and banking 5 is constructed over the mat 3. Plural consolidators 6 formed by attaching a drain material 8 to the outer surface of a rubber tube 7 are set in the soft ground A and their projected portions are supported by a casing 9. When a bentonite mud water 10 is injected into the tube 7, the tube 7 is expanded to horizontally press the soft ground layer 2 for consolidation.
