PURPOSE:To speed up an operation by comparing simultaneously an input data mark string with plural pattern mark strings. CONSTITUTION:Corresponding to each bit line 114 of an external signal memory means 110 storing an external signal at an address specified by a mark code comprising the mark string, a de-limiter signal holding means 120 holding the external signal read out of each bit line 114 is provided with respect to a specific mark code. On the other hand, plural internal signal holding means 130 corresponding to said each bit line are arrayed in a matrix. The opening and closing of the 1st gate means 143 is controlled by the external signal read out of each bit line 114 with respect to a general mark code. Receiving said external signal, the 2nd gate means 142 joints obliquely or longitudinally adjacent internal signal holding means 130 between columns at every adjacent three rows. An internal signal supplying means 125 is controlled by the contents of said de-limiter signal holding means 120, and the internal signal is set to the internal signal holding means 130 of the end line of each row.
