PURPOSE:To prevent a base from being wrinkled, by a method wherein a heat- fusible ink provided on the second sheet is melted, and the melted ink is thermally transferred onto an intermediate adhesive layer provided on the first sheet. CONSTITUTION:The first sheet 14 and the second sheet 18 are passed between a press roller 20 capable of pressing with a pressure of 4kg/cm<2> and a roller 21 heated to 95 deg.C, whereby a melted ink of an ink layer 17 of the second sheet 18 is thermally transferred onto the intermediate adhesive layer 13 of the first sheet 14 to produce a thermal transfer recording ink sheet 22, which is then taken up by a take-up roller 23. The base 16 of the second sheet 18 deprived of the ink layer 17 is fed by a feeding roller 19C, thereby setting the base 16 in a loop form, so that thermal transfer of the ink layer 17 to the first sheet 14 can be repeated. |
