PURPOSE:To stabilize electrical, optical and photoconductive characteristics by incorporating germanium atoms into a photoreceptive layer formed by laminating the 1st layer having phtoconductivity and the 2nd layer constituted of an amorphous material in the distribution state uniform with part of the layer region of the 1st layer in contact with a base. CONSTITUTION:This photosensitive layer consists of the base and the photoreceptive layer formed by laminating the 1st layer 102 which is constituted of the amorphous material consisting basically of the silicon atoms and has the photoconductivity and the 2nd layer 103 which is constituted of the amorphous material consisting basically of the silicon atoms and contg. carbon atoms and the material to control conductivity on the base. The photoreceptive layer contains the germanium atoms in the distribution state uniform in part of the layer region of the 1st layer in contact with the base 101, contains the material to control the conductivity in the distribution state nonuniform with the entire region or part of the layer region of the 1st layer and contains further the oxygen atoms in at least the entire layer region of the 1st 2nd layer 103. |
