PURPOSE:To facilitate assembling operation and to make adjusting operation easy by constituting an original scanning mechanism, its driving means, and an optical mechanism as one unit previously, adjusting the mutual position relation among the components of the unit, and incorporating the unit in a main body. CONSTITUTION:The original scanning mechanism 7 and its driving means 34, and further the optical mechanism 12 composed of a lens block 10 for power variation forming a lens body and mirrors such as the 4th, the 5th, and the 6th mirrors M4-M6 as an optical system re constituted as one unit 40, which is incorporated in a copying machine body 1A. A unit frame 41 is equipped with a bottom part support plate 41e and an optical mechanism 12 is fitted thereto. A partition plate is fixed to a support plate 41e by welding, etc., while projected downward corresponding to the opening 42 of the bottom par support plate 41e. A window 44 where transparent glass transmitting an exposure image is fitted is formed in the partition plate 43.
