PURPOSE:To obtain an image having high maximum density and good color balance by carrying out heating in the presence of a specified org. compound so as to prevent fogging by over-development. CONSTITUTION:An image is recorded on a heat developable photosensitive material by heating the material in the presence of a compound represented by the formula, wherein each of R1-R4 is H, optionally substituted alkyl, cycloalkyl, alkenyl, alkynyl, aralkyl, aryl or an optionally substituted heterocyclic residue, each of X and Y is methine or N, n is an integer of 0-6, and Z is a group which cleaves by the action of a nucleophilic reagent to give OH or NH. The amount of such a compound used depends on the kind of the compound and a system in which the compound is used, but the compound is generally used by <=50wt%, preferably <=30wt% of the amount of the coated film. |
