PURPOSE:To obtain the titled elastic glass as the material replacing in-use wood by mixing and agitating glass fiber, a specified unit element and various fine particles, heating the mixture to the m.p. of the specified unit element and then compressing and cooling the mixture. CONSTITUTION:A building material consisting, in a specified ratio, of (A) glass fiber having several mu diameter and appropriate length, (B) a unit element consisting of fine particles of low-m.p. glass having appropriate particle size of >= several tens mu and used for binding and (C) various fine particles is mixed and agitated, the mixture is then heated to the m.p. of the B component and compressed to weld a group of fiber bundles of the A component with the B component. Consequently, a quasi-sterical structure is formed in the elastic glass and the glass is then cooled. |
