Although water-collecting channels on the windscreen pillars of motor vehicles are capable of reducing to a large extent soiling of the side panes by dirty water flowing off from the windscreen, they also entail disadvantages, for example, with regard to an increase in the drag coefficient of the vehicle and an increase in the danger for people hitting the windscreen-pillar region in the event of an accident. The invention proposes to design the free ends of the legs of such water-collecting channels such that they can be folded onto the vehicle body, so that driving with the water-collecting channels unfolded into their active position is required only in appropriate weather conditions. |
