PURPOSE:To obtain a substrate for solar cell, which is superior in substrate characteristics and can be stably manufactured at low manufacturing cost, by a method wherein a metal plate, whereon an Ni plating, a Cu plating or an alloy plating of Ni and Cu has been coated, is used as the substrate for solar cell. CONSTITUTION:There are a nickel plating and alloy plating of nickel and iron, nickel and tin, nickel and zinc and so forth, and also, a copper plating and alloy platings of copper and tin, copper and zinc and so forth among the kinds of platings, but there is no special limit to each composition of these alloys. So long as the alloys are a coating obtained from baths having the smoothing effect equal as the gloss plating bath of nickel or copper, that will do and the alloys are usually plated in a thickness of serveral microns to 10mum or thereabouts. In the case of a substrate for solar cell obtained by plating with Cr, Au, Ag or Pt, or, one of alloys of these metals after Ni plating, Cu plating or an alloy of Ni and Cu was applied on a metal plate, the cost goes up a little than that in the case of a substrate obtained by applying with a single plating layer, but the upper base plating can be done thin in a thickness of less than 1mum and the surface gloss can be remarkably increased. Particularly, when a substrate for solar cell is one plated with Ag, the reflectivity becomes extremely high, though Ag has a defect which is easy to discolor. |
