PURPOSE:To drive an arm in any of elevating/descending/traversing directions by combining a ring-shaped elevating/descending coil and an elliptic traversing coil in a way that the faces of the coil oppose to that of a disc magnet where N-S magnetization is applied to a plane so as to use only the combination of a couple of magnet and coil. CONSTITUTION:The disc magnet 14 is provided so as to have a turning center is provided on a prolonged line of a vertical shaft of a pickup arm 1. The ring-shaped elevating/descending drive winding 19 is opposed to the lower face of said magnet 14 so as to be made concentric to the turning center of the magnet, the traversing drive winding 17 having a diameter corresponding to the traversing face of the pickup arm 1 is opposed in face-to-face to the lower face of the magnet 14 at a position deviated from the turning center of the magnet. Further, a lift plate 22 provided to the upper face of the magnet is supported to a horizontal shaft 3 of the pickup narm coaxially to be coupled with a traversing pedestal 23 of the pickup arm.
