PURPOSE:To constitute a real-time feedback mechanism for measuring the burr grinding quantity by installing a metering sensor for measuring the burr grinding quantity as the variation of the interval between a grinder body and a grinder holding apparatus opposed to the grinder body onto the side surface of the grinder holding apparatus. CONSTITUTION:The interval between a grinder body 3 and a grinder holding apparatus 4 in the case when the height of a casting burr 9 becomes zero is input as standard value So into the memory apparatus of a working robot previously. Simultaneously with the start of burr grinding operation, the interval C between the grinder holding apparatus 4 and the grinder body 3 is metered continuously by a magnet scale 6. Through the comparison between the metered value C and the standard value So, the height of the burr left on the surface of a workpiece 8 can be metered in real time. When the result of the measurement C=So is recorded, it is judged that the burr 9 is perfectly from the surface of the workpiece 8.
