PURPOSE:To enable die stamping while securely a constantly fixed character space in consideration of the width of each character, by a system wherein a character pitch table containing character pitches for all combinations of type faces is prepared, and character feeding based on values references from the table is performed. CONSTITUTION:A microcomputer 20 is provided with the character pitch table containing the optimum character pitches for all combination of type faces in the case where die-stamping is conducted with two type faces arranged side by side, and a die-stamping signal generating means for feeding die-stamping signals to a main body 10 of the die stamper through an RS-232C bus. On receiving the signals, the main body 10 drives a selecting pulse motor 6 so as to select a type face corresponding to a character code 43, stamps the die for the character, and then moves an XY stage 3 by an amount corresponding to a character pitch code 44, thereby performing character feeding. Center intervals of characters are set to values a-h reference from the table, whereby the character spacing is constantly fixed. |
