PURPOSE:To tighten an object to be held by small force, by turning a rotary cylinder to be moved to the side of a large contour part in a chucking cylinder and pressing the chucking cylinder, having slits, to be contracted in the inner direction. CONSTITUTION:A root part in an object to be held is inserted into an insertion hole 4 in a chucking cylinder 3, and if a rotary cylinder 17 is turned, the cylinder 17 moves to a large contour part of the cylinder 3. As a result, the cylinder 3 is pressed to be contracted in the inner direction, and a holding took, forcing an internal peripheral surface of the cylinder 3 to be brought into contact by pressure with the peripheral surface of the object to be held, holds the object. The holding tool, providing plural streaks of slits 6 in the direction of an axial line of the cylinder 3 and easily contracting it to be deformed, enables chucking operation to be performed by turning the rotary cylinder 17 to be operated by very small force.
