PURPOSE:To shorten a decelerating range and a damping time by shortcircuiting both ends of a winding without driving a moving element at decelerating time to brake the element. CONSTITUTION:Coils L1, L2 in a broken line form the winding of a stepping motor, transistors Tr1-Tr8 are conducted corresponding to the states of phase drive signals S1-S4, and the phases I-IV are driven. Switches SW1, SW2 form switches capable of shortcircuiting both ends of the coils L1, L2. If the switch SS2 is, for example, closed when only the phase I or III is driven, a loop current I0 is flowed by a counterelectromotive force generated in the coil L1 of the phases II and IV, thereby braking a movable element. The switch SW1 is similarly operated. |
