PURPOSE:To permit to prevent freezing by inexpensive heat energy by a method wherein a pilot burner, for preventing the freezing, is ignited by a control means when a temperature-detecting means has detected that the atmospheric temperature is reduced to the dangerous temperature of freezing. CONSTITUTION:When atmospheric temperature is lowered to the dangerous temperature of freezing, the pilot burner 8 for preventing freezing is ignited by the control means 15 on the basis of the detecting temperature of the temperature detecting means 14. Then, a part of combustion heat of the pilot burner 8 heats a feed water circuit 10, arranged under being contacted with a heat exchanger 6 or the upper part of a drum 9 while the other part of the heat absorbed by the evaporating section 12 of a heat pipe 11 and is transferred to the condensing part 13 of the heat pipe 11, which is provided at a part, wherein water is readily frozen, below the water circuit 10 for supplying hot-water so as to be capable of transferring the heat, then, the heat is dissipated there to prevent the freezing of water.
