Aryl oxo-alkynoates are 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors, making them useful for the treatment of inflammation, chronic obstructive lung disease or psoriasis. These compounds have the formula: <IMAGE> wherein n is 1-12; R1 is C1-C6 alkyl, C2-C6 alkenyl, or phenyl; and Aryl is naphthyl, phenyl or phenyl substituted with a variety of groups.
