PURPOSE:To improve the precision in grinding, by making a chuck from ceramics and using a grindstone used in the self cut process also in the work grinding process, in a grinder for grinding a workpiece made of ceramics. CONSTITUTION:When the captioned grinder is used, the self cut process and the work grinding process are executed in succession. In other words, in the self cut process, a chuck 2 is mounted onto a chuck holding part 16, and a work contact surface 21 is ground by a grindstone 31 to form a standard surface. Then, a work holder 50 having a work 5 attached is attached onto the standard surface, and positioning is performed. Then, the work holder 5 is adsorbed onto the standard surface through attracting holes 17 and 20, and the upper surface of the work 5 is ground by a grindstone 31. Since this machine permits the grindstone 31 used in the self cut process to be used also in the work grinding process as it is, the grinding precision can be improved, and the machine can be used in the grinding of the work made of ceramics. |
