PURPOSE:To cool efficiently a high-temp. steel plate and to reduce the cost of cooling by cooling successively the steel plate under conveyance from the front end toward the rear end in the traveling direction over the entire length in the transverse direction by the cooling water flow sprayed onto the top and bottom surfaces of the steel plate from slit jet nozzles. CONSTITUTION:The slit jet nozzles 13, 14 which are formed with nozzle parts 16, 17 made slender in the transverse direction of the high-temp. steel plate 4 and point to the pass line from above and below are provided above and below the pass line of the steel plate 4. The cooling water injection direction Y from the nozzles 13, 14 is inclined in a vertical direction so as to move toward the front side of the traveling direction X the nearer the front side thereof to bring the cooling water into collision against the plate 4. The top and bottom surfaces of the plate 4 are successively cooled from the front end toward the rear end of the direction X over the entire length in the transverse direction by the cooling water flow from the nozzles 13, 14 while the plate 4 is conveyed. The flow rate of the cooling water is adjusted to 150-200m<3>/h.m and the discharge pressure to 1.5-2kg/cm<2>. |
