PURPOSE:To attain the garbage collection of a copy type with high efficiency by providing plural working memories to which accesses are possible independently of the memory at the copy transmitter side and using those working memories as cyclic buffers. CONSTITUTION:The working memories 2-1 and 2-2 are set opposite to the storage space at the copy receiver side by making use of the dynamic characteristics of the copy type gabage collection, i.e., a fact that the storage space of the copy receiver side is sued in a single direction. At the same time, the accesses are possible to both working memories independently of a main storage 1 at the copy transmitter side. Then these memories 2-1 and 2-2 are used as the cyclic buffers exclusive for the copy receiver during the garbage collection. In other words, the control is carried out so that the data on one of both working memories that is filled can be sent out into the storage space at the copy receiver side on a disk in parallel with the copying of data to the next working memory.
