MANUFACTURE OF DISCHARGE LAMP LIGHT EMISSION TUBE

PURPOSE:To shorten and uniform the heating time by cutting between adjoining circular holes from the outside along the circular hole while making the circumference of circular hole between the cuttings thicker than the circumference of circular hole at the cutting section. CONSTITUTION:Plural circular holes 2 having same diameter are formed in a heat producing member 1 such that the distance from the center O will be same and the mutual interval in circumferential direction A will be same. Furthermore, another circular hole 3 is formed in the center to reduce the thermal capacity of the heat producing member 1. Cuttings 4 are made into the heat producing member 1 between the adjoining holes 2 where the circumference of the circular hole 2 between the cuttings is made thicker than the circumference of the circular hole 2 at the cutting 4 section. Such an apparatus is heated from normal temperature to the maximum temperature of about 1,500 deg.C in about 5min to maintain the heat producing member 1 at the maximum temperature for several seconds then induction heating is stopped thereby the light emission tube enclosure 5 is never cracked through distortion to fuse the frit ring 6 uniformly.
