PURPOSE:To recover even an error which cannot be recovered with a normal retry function by performing the automatic medium ejecting operation and the medium inserting operation continuously. CONSTITUTION:A control signal line for performing continuously the medium ejecting indication and the medium inserting indication is added and when the continuous operation indication comes from a main body part 2, a magnetic memory device 1 performs the medium inserting operation immediately after the medium ejecting operation. The medium chucking mechanism 6 of the medium ejecting/inserting mechanism part of the magnetic memory device 1 is normally opened by a spring 7 so that a medium can be inserted. When power is supplied to an electromagnetic solenoid 8, it closes the chucking mechanism 6.
