PURPOSE:To produce inexpensively an anode for electrolysis in the stage of producing the anode to be used for electrolytic refining of copper, etc. by using starter sheets attached strippably with raw material copper or copper compd. on both surfaces of a matrix plate consisting of a specific metal. CONSTITUTION:A Ti plate having 3-3.2mm thickness is used as a mother blank and the copper metal or copper compd. which is a raw material is electrodeposited on both surfaces thereof in the state of holding open the bottom end to form the matrix plate in the stage of producing the anode to be used for electrodepositing electric copper on a cathode by electrolytic refining of copper. Such matrix plate is cold worked to form the finer crystals and is thereby molded to a flat shape. The greater part of the matrix plate 1 is below the liquid surface 2 of an electrolytic bath and is connected to a bus 7 for supplying electric power in a non-solidified part 5. The consumed electrodeposition material can be stripped from the mother blank at the bottom end 3 by the presence of a protective body 10. The long-term efficient use of the Ti plate of the mother blank is thus made possible and the low cost matrix plate is produced.
