PURPOSE:To keep discharge voltage high by specifying the electric capacity of a negative mix mainly comprising zinc. CONSTITUTION:A button type alkaline manganese battery uses a nickel plated battery case 1 also serving as a positive terminal and a sealing plate 2, comprising a three layer clad plate of nickel-stainless steel-copper, also serving as a negative terminal. A positive mix 3 is the mixture of 90wt% manganese dioxide and 10wt% flake graphite, and press-molded in the battery case. Amalgamated zinc powder having an amalgamation ratio of 5-25% is used as negative active material, and a thickening agent powder such as CMC or sodium polyacrylate is mixed to the negative active material to obtain a negative mix 8 and an electrolyte such as potassium hydroxide is poured in the negative mix 8. The capacity ratio of the negative electrode to the positive electrode is specified to 30-70%. Thereby, discharge voltage is kept high. |
