PURPOSE:To obtain a metallic tape having exceptionally high adhesiveness by using a bath vessel for storing an aq. electrolyte soln. contg. a magnetic metal and contg. >=1 kinds of an ethylene oxide compd. and propylene oxide compd. forming a cloud point. CONSTITUTION:This device consists of the bath vessel 1 for storing the aq. electrolyte soln. 2 contg. the magnetic metal, the drum 3 for electrodeposition and a press contact roll 4. The metallic tape is produced by supplying a film 5 between both and press welding the magnetic metal 6 deposited on the surface of the drum for electrodeposition to the tape. A surface active agent consisting of the ethylene oxide compd., propylene oxide compd., etc. into the aq. electrolyte soln. to generate the cloud point and the magnetic metal is electrolytically deposited on the drum surface while the fine emulsion is formed in the aq. soln. The deposited metal is then made porous like a satin and the individual deposited metallic particles form the fine magnetic domains having independency. The magnetic recording medium having the extremely high density is thus obtd.
