PURPOSE:To obtain the titled dyestuff useful as orangy yellow - orangy red coloring matter for foods, feeds, cosmetic, etc. in a short time by one process, obtained by treating a paprika dyestuff extract (of Capsicum annuum L.) with an alkali aqueous solution of a caustic alkali in the presence of acetone, etc., filtering off insoluble substances, and concentrating the filtrate. CONSTITUTION:A paprika dyestuff extract (of Capsicum annuum L.) is treated with an aqueous solution of a caustic alkali in the presence of acetone or methyl ethyl ketone. the insoluble substances are filtered off, and the prepared filtrate is concentrated to give a high-purity paprika dyestuff.
