PURPOSE:To form an R-Fe-B magnet having no deterioration in its characteristic by adding powder mainly containing an element having lower melting point than that of rare earth element as a baking aid to magnetic alloy powder containing magnetic alloy powder partly oxidized and magnetic alloy powder containing a large quantity of iron. CONSTITUTION:When manufacturing a magnetic material of an alloy represented by the general formula R(Fe1-x-yCoXBy)z (where R is Nd and/or Pr or part of them is substituted for other one or more rare earth elements, 0<=x<=0.5, 0.002<=y<=0.3, 4<=z<=7.5), the alloy is first pulverized. Then, elements (Al, P, Zn, Ga, Ge, Sr, Cd, Sn, Sb, Te, Ba, Bi, Pb) having lower melting point than the rare earth elements are pulverized, 0.005-2wt% of the alloy powder is added, and mixed. The adding amount is reduced by adding the low melting point element to the pulverized magnetic powder, and can be effectively operated as baking aid. Thereafter, the mixture is pressure-molded in a magnetic field, and sintered. |
