PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of desulfurization by contacting the catalyst sticking the coke resulting from a residual oil cracking tower with the exhaust gas containing SOx in order to absorb SOx, by regenerating said catalyst in a catalyst-regenerating tower, and after that by sending back said gas to the residual oil cracking tower. CONSTITUTION:In the residual oil cracking tower 2, light oil is formed from heavy oil by means of catalyst such as granular alumina, etc., coke, etc., are stuck on the catalyst and the catalytic function is lowered. The catalyst with coke adhered is sent from a line 7 to an SOx-adsorbing tower 9 via a waste heat recovery apparatus 8. On the other hand, exhaust gas containing NOx generated in a catalyst-generating tower 5 is cooled and after that it is denitrated. Then SOx is adsorbed to the catalyst in the SOx-adsorbing tower and is released into atmosphere via a dust removed 15. The catalyst in which SOx is adsorbed is sent to an SOx-releasing tower 4 to separate SO2 and is generated by heating in the catalyst-regenerating tower 5 and then sent to the residual oil cracking tower 2. |
